WWII Memorial Phonathon
May 26, 2010 • WTOC, Savannah Morning News, and eMarketSouth have teamed together with the Veterans Council of Chatham County to hold a phonathon fundraiser for the construction of the WWII Memorial Monument that is planned to be installed on the west end of River Street.

List of Local WWII Veterans Ready for Review
Jun 10, 2009 • The Veterans Council of Chatham County is erecting a World War II Monument, titled "A World Apart," in the Rousakis Riverfront Plaza overlooking the Savannah River to honor Chatham County's World War II veterans, both living and dead, and the contributions of the greater Chatham County community to the national war effort. The monument will include an engraved Georgia granite wall honoring those from Chatham County who died while serving during World War II.
